On May 12th, the Middle School Track & Field team competed in the Sewer Pond Shuffle MS Invite at Olivet against teams such as Charlotte, Mar-Lee, Portland, Eaton Rapids, Richland Gull Lake, Lakewood, and Coldwater Legg. 

Meet highlights:

  • Melanie Jones, Raegan Jones, Trinity Nickens, and Reagan Berg placed 2nd in the Women's MMR 2400 Relay with a time of 7:32.86.

  • Adelita Tobias, Raegan Jones, Rieleigh Thompson, and Trinity Nickens finished 3rd in the Women's DMR 4000 Relay at 14:16.30.

  • Brynlee Joseph earned 2nd place in the Women's Shot Put with a throw of 29' 5.5".

  • Klaire Keiffer won 1st place in the Women's Pole Vault with a height of 8' 0".

  • Lilly Rosin took 5th place in Women's Pole Vault with a PR of 6' 6".

  • Klaire Keiffer also secured 2nd place in the Women's Long Jump with a PR of 14' 2".

  • Karlee Davis placed 3rd in the Women's Long Jump with a PR of 13' 7".

These strong performances highlighted the team's depth and talent across multiple events.

On May 13th, the Middle School Track & Field team turned in outstanding performances at the Big 8 Middle School Invite, bringing home numerous top-five finishes across the board.

Meet highlights:

  • Josh Miller dominated the sprints and hurdles, taking 1st in the 100m (12.62), 400m (57.56), and 55m hurdles (9.04).

  • Porter Bryson claimed 1st in both the 1600m (5:33.48) and 3200m (12:09.02).

  • Kale Keiffer earned 5th in shot put with a distance of 34' 2.5".

  • Melanie Jones sprinted to 1st in the 200m (28.24 PR) and 400m (1:03.34 PR).

  • Adelita Tobias placed 3rd in the 800m (2:41.96 PR) and helped the 4x400 relay team (with Zoey Burman, Raegan Jones, and Melanie Jones) to a 2nd-place finish (4:47.79).

  • Raegan Jones finished 4th in the 1600m (6:27.95) and 4th in the 3200m (14:04.17).

  • Lilly Rosin grabbed 2nd in the 3200m (13:56.56) and 3rd in the 200m hurdles (36.17 PR).

  • The 4x800 relay team of Karlee Davis, Brynlee Joseph, Rieleigh Thompson, and Zoey Burman took 1st place (13:54.21).

  • Brynlee Joseph secured 4th in shot put (28' 0").

  • Klaire Keiffer earned 1st in both the high jump (4' 10") and pole vault (8' 9" PR), and added a 2nd in long jump (13' 8").

  • Adelita Tobias also placed 3rd in pole vault (7' 6" PR).

  • Karlee Davis landed 3rd in long jump (12' 9").

An impressive showing by the Lions at a highly competitive meet!

On May 12th, the JV Baseball team hosted Quincy in a doubleheader. Despite a determined effort, the Lions fell short in both games. They dropped Game 1 with a 1-13 loss and battled in Game 2 but ultimately came up short again, losing 1-5.


On May 12th, the Girls Soccer team traveled to Bronson, where they faced a tough matchup. Despite their efforts, the team fell short with a 0-3 loss.

On May 14th, the Lady Lions hosted Bath and faced a tough opponent, falling by a score of 0-8.


On May 13th, the Softball team traveled to Quincy for a doubleheader. In Game 1, they fell 3-18, and in Game 2, despite putting more runs on the board, they came up short again with a 7-22 loss.

On May 13th, the Varsity Baseball team faced Quincy on the road. In a tightly contested Game 1, they were narrowly edged out 4-5. Game 2 proved more difficult, ending in a 0-10 loss.

On May 17th, the varsity baseball team competed in the New Lothrop Round Robin. They fought hard to a high-scoring 16-16 tie against Merrill, then bounced back with a solid 15-5 win over New Lothrop.


On May 16th, the Lions competed in the MHSAA LP Region 36 District 4 Varsity Track Meet at Concord, facing off against a large field of teams from across the region. Despite tough competition, several athletes earned top-10 finishes and personal bests:

  • Jeremiah Penny took 3rd place in the Men's 400 Meter Finals with a time of 54.28.

  • Kelvin Davis earned 3rd in both the 100m Hurdles Prelims (16.67) and the 110m Hurdles Finals (16.19, PR).

  • The Men’s 4x800 Relay team of Ben Mater, Iziah Hall, Quincy Page, and Dayton Hillard placed 10th in 10:53.98.

  • Sienna Lowe ran 9th in the Women’s 100 Meter Prelims (13.76) and 10th in the 200 Meter Prelims (28.69).

  • Athena Morehouse finished 4th in the Women’s 400 Meter Finals (1:05.36).

  • Izabelle Soper earned 6th in the 1600 Meter (6:43.15) and 8th in the 3200 Meter (15:33.02, PR).

  • Audrey Burpee placed 6th in the 300m Hurdles (52.98) and 9th in High Jump (4' 5").

  • The Women’s 4x100 Relay team (Sienna Lowe, Izabelle Taylor, Lydia Emerick, and Noelle Clinkscales) took 10th with a time of 1:00.01.

  • In the 4x200 Relay, Noelle Clinkscales, Izabelle Taylor, Audrey Burpee, and Lydia Emerick placed 8th in 2:05.03.

  • The 4x400 Relay team of Sienna Lowe, Lydia Emerick, Audrey Burpee, and Athena Morehouse captured 4th with a strong 4:40.45.

  • In the 4x800 Relay, Ariel Kenyon, Leannah Johnson, Kenzie Soper, and Izabelle Soper earned 5th place in 12:31.38.

The team showed great effort and resilience in a competitive field, with several athletes setting personal records.

FFA Project RED

On May 13th, FFA members hosted their annual Project RED (Rural Education Day), where they brought animals and other agricultural equipment to the Elementary buildings to teach the students about Agriculture and the opportunities FFA offers.
