On May 8th, the Seniors were celebrated at Honors Night, where there were many awards presented.

On May 5th, the JV Baseball team hosted Stockbridge for a doubleheader. The Lions earned a split on the day, taking the first game with a solid 6-3 victory. Game two saw Stockbridge bounce back, handing the Lions an 18-3 loss.

On May 9th, the JV Baseball team hosted Pennfield. In Game 1, they suffered a tough loss, 1-21. Game 2 also ended in a loss, with a score of 1-16.


On May 5th, the Girls' Soccer team played at home against Quincy. The Lions struggled to find their rhythm and fell with a final score of 0-8.

On May 7th, the Girls’ Soccer team traveled to Stockbridge, where they faced a tough matchup and fell with a final score of 1-5.


On May 7th, the Softball team traveled to Stockbridge for a doubleheader. In Game 1, the Lions were held scoreless in a 0-15 loss. Game 2 saw slight offensive improvement, but they ultimately fell 2-16.


On May 9th, the Varsity Track and Field team traveled to the Gobles Invitational, where several athletes turned in strong performances and personal records against tough competition.

Meet Highlights (Top 5 Placements):

  • Men’s 400 Meter: Jeremiah Penny placed 4th with a personal record of 53.97

  • Men’s 110m Hurdles: Kelvin Davis finished 3rd (17.25)

  • Men’s 300m Hurdles: Kelvin Davis earned another 3rd place (43.18)

  • Men’s High Jump: Kelvin Davis took 3rd with a jump of 5' 11"

  • Women’s 300m Hurdles: Audrey Burpee placed 4th with a personal best of 51.69

On May 5th, the Middle School Track & Field team competed in a Big 8 meet at Quincy against Stockbridge and Quincy. The team had a successful outing, earning several top-five finishes and setting multiple personal records.

Meet Highlights:

  • Josh Miller dominated the sprints, placing 1st in the 70m (9.17 PR), 100m (12.84), and 200m (26.81 PR).

  • Melanie Jones took 1st in the 400m (1:04.42) and 2nd in the 200m (29.30 PR).

  • Klaire Keiffer earned 1st in both the High Jump (4'10") and Pole Vault (8'0"), and placed 2nd in the 70m (10.53 PR).

  • Raegan Jones won the 3200m (14:19.14) and finished 2nd in the 1600m (6:25.62 PR).

  • Adelita Tobias placed 2nd in the 800m (2:53.97) and 3rd in the Pole Vault (6'6").

  • Karlee Davis took 4th in the 100m (15.26 PR) and 2nd in the Long Jump (11'10.5" PR).

  • Lilly Rosin won the 55m Hurdles (11.19 PR), was 4th in the same event, and placed 4th in Pole Vault (6'0" PR).

  • Kale Keiffer placed 2nd in both the Shot Put (32'6") and Pole Vault (6'6" PR), and 3rd in the 100m (14.75).

  • Justice Deboer finished 5th in the 400m (1:15.91 PR).

  • Brynlee Joseph won the Shot Put with a mark of 28'2.5".

  • The Girls 4x400 Relay team (Zoey Burman, Adelita Tobias, Raegan Jones, Melanie Jones) placed 2nd with a time of 4:50.08.


On May 7th, the Varsity Baseball team traveled to Stockbridge for a doubleheader. Game 1 was a tightly contested battle that ended in a narrow 4-5 loss for the Lions. In Game 2, the team bounced back with an impressive 12-1 victory, showcasing strong offense and solid defense.

On May 9th, the Varsity Baseball team traveled to Bellevue and secured a dominant 15-0 victory. The team showcased strong performance throughout the game, leading to a convincing win.

On May 7th, the Varsity Track and Field team competed in a Big 8 meet against Quincy and Stockbridge at Stockbridge, earning several top finishes across both the men's and women's teams.

  • Women’s 100 Meter: Athena Morehouse placed 3rd with a PR of 14.16, Sienna Lowe 4th (14.20)

  • Women’s 200 Meter: Noelle Clinkscales earned 4th (30.84)

  • Women’s 300m Hurdles: Audrey Burpee took 2nd (54.44)

  • Women’s 4x100 Relay: Sienna Lowe, Izabelle Taylor, Olivia Campbell, and Noelle Clinkscales placed 2nd (59.94)

  • Women’s 4x200 Relay: Sienna Lowe, Audrey Burpee, Athena Morehouse, and Noelle Clinkscales captured 1st (1:59.23)

  • Women’s 4x800 Relay: Ariel Kenyon, Leannah Johnson, Kenzie Soper, and Izabelle Soper finished 3rd (13:35.11)

  • Women’s High Jump: Audrey Burpee placed 2nd (4' 6")

  • Women’s Long Jump: Noelle Clinkscales earned 3rd with a PR of 13' 8.5", Izabelle Soper 4th (11' 9.5"), Amira Felder 5th (11' 5.5")

  • Men’s 100 Meter: Jeremiah Penny placed 4th (12.30), Dayton Hillard 5th with a PR of 12.50

  • Men’s 200 Meter: Jeremiah Penny secured 4th (24.96)

  • Men’s 400 Meter: Gavin Swift took 5th (1:01.85)

  • Men’s 100m Hurdles: Kelvin Davis earned 3rd (17.68)

  • Men’s 300m Hurdles: Kelvin Davis finished 2nd (43.89)

  • Men’s 4x100 Relay: Doug Smalley, Andrew Phenix, Skyler Cook, and Iziah Hall placed 3rd (51.14)

  • Men’s 4x800 Relay: Ben Mater, Iziah Hall, Doug Smalley, and Quincy Page came in 3rd (10:53.23)

  • Men’s Shot Put: Tyrese Robinson-El placed 5th (37' 6")

  • Men’s Discus: Skyler Cook finished 4th with a PR of 108' 0"

  • Men’s High Jump: Kelvin Davis took 3rd (5' 10")

  • Men’s Long Jump: Gavin Swift earned 2nd (17' 9.5"), Ben Mater took 4th (15' 11.5")

Band Chicago Trip

On May 3rd and 4th, the Maple Valley Band took a trip to Chicago, where they had lots of fun and enjoyed being able to be with each other.

FFA Banquet

On May 9th, we celebrated the passing of the year and honored many members. We also had 2 visiting State Officers, Logan & Addi!
