Fun in the Valley

Community Service Day

On May 2nd, the HS Student Council hosted a Community Service Day for all 7-12 students where they participated in various projects in Vermontville, Nashville, and around the Jr/Sr High School. Students cleaned up trash along the trail and main roads (152 cubic feet of trash and a sofa were disposed of), visited the Flower House, Thornapple Manor, cleaned up around the school and towns, painted curbs, beautified the flower beds in town, and much more.

Decision Day

On May 2nd, Maple Valley Seniors celebrated Decision Day with schools from all over the country! Seniors will be attending college, trade schools, work, art school, and the US Air Force. We are proud of each and every one of them as they launch into the next part of their journey, always taking a part of Maple Valley with them.

Miss Darcey Turner, a First Grade teacher and Western Michigan University graduate, grew up in Nashville and is a proud 2011 graduate of Maple Valley Schools. She returned to the district to give back to the community that helped shape who she is today. She loves her students, co-workers, and the close-knit, small-town atmosphere. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, being at the lake, working out, baking, and gardening, especially growing flowers, fruits, and vegetables. Her advice to students is to “dream big, work hard, and stay kind.”
