Charlotte Optimist Club Awards

On March 17th, the Charlotte Optimist clubs honored a total of 81 students, including 19 from Maple Valley. Students were nominated by their teachers for consistently modeling exemplary behavior and attitude in the classroom. The following individuals were honored from Maple Valley: Brayden Cook, Braiden DePyper, Maycie Erb, Eva Graham, Mikayla Griffin, Loralye Gonzalex, Alyssa Harrington, Leannah Johnson, Melanie Jones, Onika Knauss, Shannon Kistler, Ellie Mann, Dakota Martin, Conner Preisman, Izabelle Racine, Lilly Rosin, Brennan Thompson, Hudson Winslow, and Tucker Wright. Congratulations to everyone!

On March 20th, the Varsity Track & Field team traveled to Saginaw Valley State University to compete in a highly competitive indoor meet. The Lions put forth strong performances across multiple events, with several athletes achieving personal records (PRs) and top finishes.

Boys 60m:

  • Holdyn Clinkscales - 65th place, 8.36 seconds

  • Dayton Hillard - 68th place, 8.41 seconds

Girls 60m:

  • Sienna Lowe - 32nd place, 9.23 seconds

  • Amira Felder - 43rd place, 9.51 seconds

  • Olivia Campbell - 50th place, 9.81 seconds

The Lions put forth a strong showing at the SVSU Invite, with multiple athletes earning top finishes and setting new personal records. Great job, Lions!
