It is time for Everyone to come Home to the Valley!
Homecoming Celebrations will return to full gusto in the coming week! My themes for this school year are Joy and Fun, two things we have had precious little of in the recent past. Now it is the season to resume connections, build great memories and embrace traditions once again! We hope you will be able to join us for some or ALL of the great things our students, staff and administration have been working on for the past few weeks! For details of these events, please check out the Maple Valley Facebook page, our website or the Main Offices throughout the district. Maple Valley is throwing a weeklong celebration of Homecoming!
Every day of the week has different themes in all of our buildings for students and staff to dress and show their spirit.
The Jr./Sr. HS will host lunch time games every day of the week: Face Cookie, Kleenex Box Shake, Traffic Yam and the One Chip Challenge.
Monday come watch our Soccer Boys team compete against Pennfield at 5:30. Tuesday our Varsity Volleyball team will compete against Lakewood at 6:00. Wednesday at 4:30 our 7/8 Volleyball team competes against Leslie, then you can proceed to the Football field at 6:30 to watch the powerful women of Powderpuff Football challenge one another for bragging rights. The Band Booster Concessions Stand will be open, so come out, have dinner in the Grandstand and enjoy the fun! Thursday will be a big afternoon for all ages as we kick off a Tailgate party with the Athletic Boosters providing food for donations to our DECA students who dedicate time and energy to good causes. Bouncy houses, face painting, lawn games, a DJ, and firetrucks will get rolling at 5:30 outside of the stadium to warm up the crowd to cheer on our Mighty Mites Football team and Cheerleaders on the big field. When their games conclude, our own Lion’s Marching Band will lead us to the Bonfire Area where we have planned a big Bonfire, courtesy of Mr. Seavolt’s Woods Classes, with a new surprise this year thanks to Mr. Rosin’s Chemistry class. Our friends from the Fire Departments will ensure everyone stays safe and we will have a great time.
Friday will bring the Advisory Olympics at the Jr./Sr. HS in the morning with an assembly for games, intergrade competitions and the Crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen with their Court. Our new Principal Mr. Goggins is working on a nice surprise for the Parade which begins at 5:30 in Vermontville this year. Come out to see the Floats, see the Homecoming Court and maybe even catch some candy! The Maple Valley Lions Football team will take on the Blackhawk Christians at 7 pm. The Band Booster Concessions Stand will be open so bring your appetite and enjoy the game and the floats in the end zone.
Saturday will wrap up our festivities with a Dance for our students at the high school from 7 – 10:30 pm.
There is so much to do in celebration of our traditions, our Lion Hearts and our community! We hope to see you as we join in the Fun and create some Joy! It is a GREAT week to be in the Valley!
