My SAEBRS Survey

Please take a moment to read this letter from Mr. Smith in regard to the My SAEBRS survey.

Maple Valley Parents,

Three times a year, Maple Valley Schools is required to check in with our students to see how they are doing academically, socially, and emotionally.  For our 3rd through 12th-grade students, we use a 10-minute survey called the Social, Emotional, Academic Behavior Rating Scale, or MySAEBRS for short. This survey is kept confidential and only a limited number of staff have access to the raw data. Most of the staff only see the percentages by grade or by school level. The MySAEBRS survey is used to help our students focus on their education and to help remove social and emotional barriers to learning. Sometimes that involves building social or emotional skills such as getting along with others or dealing with stress. The MySAEBRS survey allows Maple Valley to focus our resources on priority skills first so that our academic studies are more effective. Maple Valley wants all of our students and families to feel comfortable with the MySAEBRS survey. If your family prefers that your student not participate, please reach out to your school counselor to let them know that you would prefer your child not participate in this survey. If you have any questions regarding this survey, please reach out to your school counselor for additional information. We are always happy to provide information to families that will better assist all of us in making the best choices for everyone involved.

Please talk to your child about participating in the MySAEBRS survey. The window opens Monday, May 1st, 2023, and closes Friday, May 5th, 2023. The survey will be available through student email and the link can only be used once. Students will have a chance to complete this survey during the school day.

Again, please feel free to reach out to your school’s counselor if you have any questions.
