On September 15th, the boys’ soccer team traveled to Quincy for a hard-fought game. The Lions held strong defensively but couldn’t find the back of the net, falling 0–2.

On September 16th, the boys’ soccer team faced Calhoun Christian. The Lions fought hard but struggled against a strong opponent, falling 0–8.

On September 16th, the volleyball teams traveled to Concord. The JV squad battled through three sets, ultimately falling short in the first two (13–25, 17–25) but bouncing back to take the third (25–18). The Varsity team fought hard as well but dropped their match in straight sets, 0–3.

On September 20th, the Maple Valley varsity volleyball team traveled to compete in the Fennville Invitational. The Lions started strong with a two-set sweep over Wyoming Lee (25–14, 25–24). In their second matchup, they faced Bangor but fell in two sets (7–25, 14–25).

On September 18th, the JV football team hosted Springport and came away with an impressive 22–6 victory. The Lions controlled the game on both sides of the ball, earning a strong home win.

On September 19th, the varsity football team traveled to Springport for a conference matchup. The Lions battled but were unable to break through, falling 0–35.

Activites/Clubs

Maple Valley FFA Updates

The Maple Valley FFA Chapter held its first meeting of the school year on Monday, September 15th. The meeting had a strong turnout, with members excited to kick off another year. Officers and advisors shared upcoming opportunities and events, setting the stage for a busy and successful year ahead.

Looking forward, the officers are preparing for their trip to the National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis from October 28th through October 31st. This convention is one of the largest student gatherings in the nation and offers students opportunities to grow as leaders, explore career pathways, and celebrate agricultural education.

A special highlight will take place on November 1st, when Logan Bowers will proudly receive his American FFA Degree, the highest honor an FFA member can achieve.

Maple Valley NHS Update

The National Honor Society has announced its officers for the school year. Congratulations to the newly elected leaders:

  • President – Bradley Cushing

  • Vice President – Kaylee Williams

  • Secretary – Sienna Lowe

  • Treasurer – Izabelle Soper

These students will represent Maple Valley’s NHS chapter and lead in service, scholarship, leadership, and character throughout the year.

Senior Highlights

Ariel Kenyon

After high school, Ariel plans to attend college. The staff member who has made the greatest impact on her is Ms. Catchick because she gives Ariel the drive to do better and succeed at school. She is looking forward to what Senior year will bring.
