On November 5th, the Varsity volleyball team competed in the District Tournament at Delton Kellogg against Pewamo-Westphalia. The Lions fought hard but fell in three sets: 7-25, 16-25, and 10-25, bringing their season to a close. Great effort this year, Lions!
As the fall season comes to a close, our Lions have demonstrated determination, teamwork, and growth across all sports. Here’s how each team finished their 2025 season:
Varsity Volleyball: 9-27-1
JV Volleyball: 6-23-4
Varsity Football: 2-7
JV Football: 4-5
Boys Soccer: 5-13-1
Great job to all our athletes and coaches for their hard work and dedication throughout the season. Go Lions!
Staff Highlight

This week’s featured staff member is Mrs. Patti Braun, a dedicated 5th-grade teacher here at Maple Valley. Mrs. Braun has been part of the Maple Valley family for over 30 years, bringing warmth, experience, and a love for teaching to every classroom she enters.
She is a proud graduate of the University of Olivet and says one of the things she loves most about working at Maple Valley is the small, family-like community that makes our district so special. Her favorite part of teaching? The students! Mrs. Braun loves seeing familiar faces. This year, she even has several children of her former 5th and 6th-grade students in her class.
Outside of school, Mrs. Braun enjoys redecorating her house and creating cozy, welcoming spaces.
Her advice for students is inspiring: “I try to help my students want to become lifelong learners. They might not understand why it’s important at 10, but hopefully sometime in their educational and professional careers, they will see its importance.”
Thank you, Mrs. Braun, for your many years of dedication, passion, and care for Maple Valley students!
