Fun in the Valley

On May 29th & 30th, Restore the Roar hosted the elementary field days for Maplewood and Fuller Street students; everyone had a great time. Thank you, Restore the Roar, for your continued support of our school, community, and most importantly, the students!

On May 31st, Kelvin Davis represented the Lions at the MHSAA LP Division 4 Track & Field Finals.

He competed in three events:

  • 110m Hurdles Prelims: 23rd place with a time of 16.67

  • 300m Hurdles: 20th place with a time of 44.07

  • High Jump: 20th place with a mark of 5'8"

Congratulations to Kelvin on qualifying for the state finals and proudly representing Maple Valley at the highest level of competition!

On May 27th, the varsity baseball team hosted Charlotte and fell short with a 1-7 loss. Despite a strong effort on the field, the Lions were unable to generate enough offense to overcome Charlotte’s lead.

On May 27th, varsity track athletes competed at the Greater Lansing Honor Roll Meet against top talent from the region.

  • Kelvin Davis placed 14th in the Boys 110m Hurdles with a time of 17.87, and 15th in the 300m Hurdles with 43.56.

  • In the Girls 400m, Athena Morehouse finished 12th with 1:05.81, while Audrey Burpee placed 16th in 1:08.00.

A strong showing by the Lions on a big stage!

Activites/Clubs

On May 28th, the community joined together to celebrate the Maple Valley Band program at the end of their successful year! Many people were honored, and the band students can’t wait for their upcoming season.

On May 28th, the Charlotte Culvers hosted a share night where 15% of all proceeds from 5-8 pm were donated to the Maple Valley FFA chapter. Thank you, Culver’s, for your continued support of the FFA and its members!
