Welcome Back
It was great to see everyone back in the Valley from Winter Break! We can’t wait to see what the rest of the school year brings for everyone.
Winter Homecoming
The High School Student Council will be hosting the Winter Homecoming from February 3rd to the 8th. Visit the Winter Homecoming webpage for more information and event details.
Sports

The Boys JV Basketball team defeated the Bellevue Broncos on January 7th, scoring 63 to 32. And the Varsity team was defeated by the Broncos, scoring 45 to 76.

The Wrestling team defeated the Concord Yellowjackets on January 8th at our Parent’s Night, with a team score of 52 to 6, and also beat the Fulton Pirates with a team score of 42 to 30. Congratulations!

On January 9th the Varsity Competetive Cheer team traveled to Caledonia High School to compete in the Purple and Gold Invite. And on January 11th the Wrestling team traveled to Lakeview for the Lakeview Invite.


The Girls Varsity Basketball team was defeated by the Springport Spartans on January 7th at Springport, scoring 13 to 77.

The Boys JV Basketball team was defeated by the Quincy Orioles on January 9th, with a score of 36 to 43, and the Varsity team was defeated by the Orioles, scoring 44 to 50.

Activites/Clubs

Hailey Martin Competed in the Hotel and Lodging Management event for DECA on January 9th. Hailey earned a blue ribbon for the role play and qualified to participate in the State Career Conference! Congratulations Hailey!
On January 8th and 9th, Mr. Dennison held auditions for the Spring Play, which will take place from April 4th through April 6th. The cast will be doing "And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie, a murder mystery. We can’t wait to see what they do!
Senior Highlights
The teacher who has had the biggest impact on Arin is Mrs. Bennett because they have built a relationship together which has helped them feel a sense of belonging at school. After high school Arin is excited to see fewer people. Some advice Arin would like to give to incoming freshman is being disrespectful does not make you cool. The highlight of Arin’s senior year has been having meaningful conversations with Mr. Wilhelm.


After High School Caleigh Plans to go to college and start her career with the Lansing Board of Water and Light. The teacher that has had the biggest impact on her is Mr. Wilhelm because he’s shown her that hard work can always get you where you want to go, and has given her mentorship and guidance. After graduating Caleigh looks forward to furthering her career in trades. Some advice she would like to give to incoming freshmen is being mean gets you nowhere. The highlight of her senior year will be graduating.
