Greetings Maple Valley,
We are off and running with what has been an excellent start to our school year. We have certified teachers in every classroom, our bus routes are running well and our transportation staff is outstanding. Our paraprofessionals have engaged in Professional Development to continually improve their practice and I have only had excellent reports from the buildings about our students' engagement in their learning. It is truly a wonderful day in the Valley!
I hope you were able to review my earlier letter about the impact of the legislative budget delays on our district and take action if you are inclined.
I want to let you know that we will be launching our strategic planning process this fall also. If you would like to join us for the community workshop day on October 18, 2025, please write to me at kbertolini@mvs.k12.mi.us. During that full day Saturday, we will work to finalize our plans for the next five years and set the course for Maple Valley Schools. It is a great day of learning about what we have accomplished over the past five years while looking forward to the next five. We value and need community input, so please consider joining us.
Our Homecoming is early this year and we hope you can come out to enjoy all of the athletic contests, the band halftime show and all of our Homecoming events during the week of September 8-12th.
The Open Houses were well attended and we hope that community engagement continues and grows throughout the year.
