Spring has sprung and brought with it a passion to be outdoors once again! I have some exciting news to share that may help give you a place to spend your spring moments outdoors with us in Maple Valley!
Spring Athletics is in full swing and we are planning for Fall Sports already.
Please come out to cheer on our Student Athletes this season. Our Boys Varsity Baseball is having a really strong season thus far and are undefeated in our conference. Coming out to cheer on our many events in Track & Field will help folks have a refresher as the Summer Olympics are on the horizon in Paris. We hope you can get out to enjoy the great weather and competitions.
All of our Spring Sports are scheduled, but also subject to change due to the highly variable weather conditions or athlete injury which can lower our numbers and cause cancellations. Always check our Athletics webpage for schedule updates and potential changes.
Once spring sports wrap up, summer practices and training will begin for fall sports and this fall our Varsity Football Program will be led by our very own Mr. Trent Harvey. Mr. Harvey has a storied history with Maple Valley Football as a student, former coach and lifelong fan. We are thrilled to welcome him back to coach as we return to an 11-man team. Please join me in celebrating our New Head Coach for what promises to be a very exciting and rewarding season for our athletes and our fans!
We are currently working with teams of dedicated parents, community members, coaches and staff on our Athletic Strategic Plan. It is an excellent group of folks who are all striving to make Maple Valley Athletics the best it can be and I am so grateful for their hard work. Four subcommittees are working on Student Engagement, Coaching, Curriculum development and Culture. All of the committees have worked hard to produce connections, communications, and plans for bringing our entire community together in support of our student athletes. This work is a model for what I hope to do in future years with our other extracurricular offerings to keep improving options for our students to have diverse and rewarding experiences.
