Michael A. Knapp
Mr. Knapp graduated from Fremont High School in 1990. He graduated from Ferris State University in 1996, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. He taught in the districts of Portland St. Patrick's and Ionia, as he earned a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Ferris State University in 2008. Mr. Knapp was the assistant principal at Ionia High School since the Fall of 2012 and enjoyed every aspect of the job where he worked with a tremendous staff, supportive parents and a motivated student body. He considers his current position at Maple Valley Schools a "dream" job and looks forward to future challenges and continuing great success in the realms of academics, athletics and the arts that has been established as the expectation for Maple Valley Jr./Sr. High School.
Mr. Knapp is married to his wife Liz and they have five wonderful children: Kaitlyn, Alec, Lucy, Collin, and Korben. In his spare time, Mr. Knapp enjoys watching his kids participate in sports, golfing, and spending time with his family. Although a graduate of Ferris State University, he has a distinct passion for Michigan football and basketball.
