10th Grade Visit to Eaton Career Preparation Center

Dear Parents and Students:

On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, 10th-grade students have the opportunity to visit the Eaton Career Preparation Center to learn more about the full-year courses available for the 2023-2024 school year. Students will be transported by school bus to Lansing Community College West Campus for this visit. The visit will take place from 11:45 am- 1:20 pm. The bus will leave Maple Valley High School at 11:00 a.m. and return to the high school at approximately 2:15 p.m. A boxed lunch will be provided to students and they will be allowed to eat while on the bus ride to LCC.  

Students will receive a school-related absence for the classes they miss at the high school but are responsible for the work they miss that day.  Please keep in mind that it is the day before exams and your student may be missing the reviews that day.

In order to attend, students need to complete the online registration prior to November 30th to sign up for the visitation.  This will be done with Mrs. Mills immediately after they attend the Career Preparation Presentation on November 9th in English class.  Students will use the following link to sign up https://tinyurl.com/10thgradevisit    

Visiting the program does not guarantee a spot for the student. It does provide an advantage for enrolling before those students who did not visit. Students will be required to complete an online enrollment application one on one with Mrs. Mills if they wish to sign up for the course after visiting. They will also have to have approval to attend from the Career Development Coordinator, teachers, and administration after their attendance, discipline, grades, and earned credits are checked.  The online enrollment application will be available starting in late December.
