Maple Valley School District Strategic Planning
Strategic Planning Invitation
We are excited to announce that the Maple Valley Board of Education and our Administrative team are launching an initiative to guide the district through a 3-5 Year Strategic Planning Process. The purpose of this initiative is to help the district develop goals and strategies for continuing to offer an excellent education for our students, while using scarce public education resources in the most effective and efficient way. Our previous five-year plan is coming to a close this spring, and we want to assess where we have been and where we need to go as a community school system.
Stakeholder feedback is an important part of the planning process. Community members, parents, teachers, administrators, students, teachers and other district staff members will be invited to focus groups and asked questions regarding strengths, areas to improve and vision for the district. This information will be shared at a planning retreat as well as other data regarding student performance and comparison to other districts. Please give some consideration to attending our focus group sessions in person. All stakeholders can contribute to the data collections by engaging in the online survey also.
The school board welcomes your input to this process and intends to use data and stakeholder input to make decisions and to set priorities for the district. Dr. Rod Green, consultant from the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), will facilitate the planning retreat. The online survey for the process is found on the school district website at the following URL:
Please click on the link and fill out the survey. We are excited about this process and are confident it will ultimately help the district be more successful in its mission of educating our students.
It is a great day to be in the Valley!
